To motivate yourself, write down your nutritional goals and objectives For example, ‘I want to feel more energetic and healthy’ or ‘I want to lose seven pounds’. Also, keep a diary of everything you eat and drink for three days, more if you can manage it. Analyse your food diary to work out your good and bad eating habits.

Look at the timing of your meals. Do you eat breakfast? Do you eat at regular intervals during the day? Do you skip meals? These are important questions. Do you eat very little during the day but a very big meal in the evening? This eating pattern is far from ideal.
? Look at what kinds and amounts of food you eat. Large quantities of high-fat foods – for
example, pastry dishes – are undesirable, while eating five portions of fruit and vegetables a day is good.
? Then look at the way your diet is balanced. Eating the same foods day after day is not good for you, while eating a ivide variety of foods will keep you healthy.
? Write down some easy changes you can make. For instance, start eating breakfast. Do not skip meals. Eat fruit instead of chocolate. Aim to make just one change at a time.
